Ging Gang Gooli

"G'day Roddy," replied Desmond, "isn't it a beautiful day."

"Yes it is," said Roddy, "and a good day for a song."

The suggestion made Desmond very excited. He loved singing. "Quack, Quack," squawked Desmond loudly, "that would be great."

And no sooner had Desmond, Roddy, Cassie and Joe started singing and all the other animals joined in.

Billy The Easter Bunyip

It was dawn when the farmyard woke up to the sound of Billy The Easter Bunyip.

"Come out, everyone, come out and see!!" yelled Billy.

Roddy The Rooster, Mrs Hen and all the farmyard animals scrambled outside to see Billy The Easter Bunyip. At Billy's feet were six little fluffy chicks.

The Annual Tumbledown Creek Fete! - Part 1

Cassie The Carpetsnake was very excited - she loved the annual fete. Every year it was Cassie's job to run the Hoop-la stall. She'd lift the top half of her long silky body into the air so that it was stiff and encourage visitors to her stall to throw rings around her neck - and every ring that landed on her earned the contestant a prize. Sometimes Cassie would sway from side to side to make it even more difficult.

The Annual Tumbledown Creek Fete! - Part 2

Roddy The Rooster stood with a bright red loud hailer under his wing at the the starting line for the Cross Country Three-Legged Marathon. He lifted the bright red loud hailer to his mouth and announced, "Bwark!! Two minutes to starting time!!"

Penny and Pixie Piglet, Mrs Hen and Desmond Duck were on their marks and ready to race.

Christmas Breakfast

And all was quiet until....

"COCKADOODLE-DOO"

"COCKADOODLE-DOO" ....again!

It was Roddy The Rooster....

AND.... it was Christmas morning!

"B'WARK!" came his cry, "Happy Christmas Everybody!!"

Do The Monkey

The little Cheeky Chicks looked up to Roddy The Rooster and one of them asked, "What's a monkey?"

As Roddy explained, monkeys lived in jungles around the world. There are all sorts of monkeys:- baboons, apes, gorillas and chimpanzees. They love swinging through trees and eating bananas.

Kira Kookaburra

"No rain and no cool breeze," said Roddy pointing to the stationary windmill.

Mr Horse came out of his barn and joined Mrs Cow for breakfast. "How can we escape this heat?" asked Mr Horse.

"Well, before it gets too hot we should go down to Tumbledown Creek for a swim." said Roddy. "Cassie The Carpetsnake and Joe The Jolly Jumbuck headed down there earlier."

The Grand Parade

Mr Horse was next to appear, marching proudly in full armour, like the horse of a brave knight from medieval times.

Cassie The Carpetsnake came into view pulling a small wagon bearing a hand written sign:- "The Hooded Escapologist." A mysterious figure stood on the wagon covered in a white sheet and wrapped in chains and padlocks. No one could recognise Joe The Jolly Jumbuck under that white sheet and wrapped in all those chains and padlocks!

Sneezes In The Breezes

"Well," continued Penny, as Pixie sneezed again, "Pixie got out of the creek and we ran all the way back to the farm and when we got back to the farm we were so exhausted that we fell asleep straight away - Pixie in her wet swimming costume on her wet towel."

Pixie Piglet sneezed again, "AH-CHOO! I-I-I sh-sh-should have dried myself and h-h-hung up my t-t-towel. Now I-I-I've got a c-c-cold!"

Uncle Tim's Bush Band

Roddy read the piece of paper out aloud to himself, "Announcing the first tour of UNCLE TIM'S BUSH BAND. Featuring Uncle Tim on harmonica, Kira Kookaburra on guitar, Kenny Kangaroo on bass and Mr Wombat on drums." Roddy was excited, "Wow! I never knew Old Mr Wombat had it in him!"

Roddy The Rooster excitedly scrambled from the roof to spread the news around. And soon the farmyard was abuzz because everyone loves a bush band!

A Puppy's Tale

Pixie tried to console the puppy. "What's your name?" she asked.

"I'm called Lasilaura, I'm a labrador, and my city owners have left me behind!"

Next moment Penny & Pixie were leading Lasilaura to Roddy The Rooster. "He'll know what to do!" they assured Lasilaura.

Old Mr Wombat's Tea Party

"Have a nice day, Mrs Cow!" said Old Mr Wombat as he headed toward the farmyard. "Thanks for the invitation," said Mrs Cow who returned to eating her breakfast.

When Old Mr Wombat entered the barnyard he first saw Desmond Duck and promptly handed him an invitation. "It's on Thursday at noon," said Old Mr Wombat cheerfully.

Monsters!

As Mr Horse sang his new song his pumpkin head dress fell onto the floor, such was the exhuberance of Mr Horse's performance. But it did not matter. The song was great, and once he finished the barn erupted in applause and calls for more, more, more!!

"Who's Roddy?"

Roddy The Rooster is always first to rise in the morning, but not usually with a bonk to his beak.

Roddy rubbed his head and climbed to the roof of his barn to give his familar morning wake-up call.

Easter Yummies Easter Tummies

Cassie The Carpetsnake was particularly put out, "Well, I'm not putting up with it! I'm going to somewhere safe until that station wagon full of city slickers leaves our beautiful farm!" And with that Cassie slid out of the barn.

Roddy The Rooster yelled out to Cassie as she left the barn, "You'd be safe in here, but if you want to go, remember, you must be back by morning. Before the Easter Bunyip comes! That's if you've been good all year and you want a scrumptious chocolate Easter Egg!!"

Mrs Hen Has Lost Her Chicks

Mrs Hen settled herself and Mrs Cow sat down in the hay.

"That's better," said Roddy, "Now calmly start at the beginning."

It had been a beautiful crisp Winter's morning at Tumbledown Creek Farm and, before breakfast, the Cheeky Chicks had asked their mother if they could visit Mrs Cow in her paddock.
